About Allen Bike Racks
In 1967, after a few years of working on the aerospace technology for the Apollo missions, Dick Allen was out of a job. Government cutbacks led Allen, a Harvard-trained physicist, to transform his garage hobby into a new industry. A cycling enthusiast, inventor, and family man, Allen had a personal need for a bike-carrying device. On weekends, he would take his sons and wife to Cape Cod or the White Mountains of New Hampshire. What proved difficult time and again was the transport of his family’s bicycles. Rather than fight through inconvenience with twine and a dinged car, Allen sought an answer for himself as well as a market in which he foresaw major growth possibilities.

Always a pathfinder, Allen took to work in his Lincoln, Massachusetts garage in search of a more efficient way to transport bikes. Drafting designs during the day and constructing them throughout the night, he put together a model made of electrical conduit, metal strapping, and fire hose casings (for padding). At first, the Allens tested the prototype on weekend excursions. Finding the first trunk-mounted rack to be a success, Dick started Allen Bike Racks. Dealer acceptance came quickly, and by 1971 Allen Bike Racks were sold nationally through a number of major bicycle distributors. Today, the company owns over three dozen patents and offers a versatile product line of bike racks while Dick’s son Alex now owns and operates the business. What started out as a small garage run operation now operates three warehouses nationally, two factories abroad, and has products sold in more than a dozen countries around the world.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Easy to install, sturdy, and great customer service ...
I was looking for an inexpensive two-bike rack that would fit both a Saturn sedan and a VW Beetle. While this item was initially appealing, I wasn't sure if it would work for both, very different vehicles. I first checked the Allen Website, which lists all of their products and which vehicles they fit. However, my Saturn wasn't listed. I emailed the company and they responded quickly with their recommendation. So, 5 stars for Allen customer service! And 5 stars for the bike rack! It is super easy to install and folds up nicely to fit in the trunk. Both bikes fit snugly and securely on the rack. You will drive with confidence knowing your bikes are secured with this product. Highly recommended!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Very sturdy even in an alternate strap configuration ...
I have a 2001 Camry, and wasn't able to attach the lower straps below the bumper (as the picture shows). Even with them attached to the trunk, it is very stable. I have no worries attaching my $$$ tri bike and traveling at highway speeds. And as a bonus, I can access the trunk now.

Very simple to assemble; once straps are initially set, it's literally a matter of seconds to remove or reattach.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Allen 102S Bike Rack ...
Delivered on time as promised and in perfect condition. Extremely easy to install on my 99 Accord. Good sturdy unit with excellent design, handled my one bicycle well on a 200 mile trip. Caution, clean grit and dust off the trunk lid before mounting the rack to prevent marring of the paint and secure wheels to prevent damage to vehicle during travel. Also, make sure pedal is not in position to damage trunk lid or bumper. Very pleased with this purchase.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - * Worked out like a champ ...
I commute almost 50 miles each way to work and nearby is a really neat bike trail so I wanted to get a simple bike rack so I could ride during my lunch hours and after work and after reading the reviews for Allen 102-S and not really wanting to spend over $100, I decided to give it a try and I can honestly say that I have no regrets. I was a little nervous at first beacuse my commute is almost entirely on the freeway and we drive like maniacs out here in SF, but it secured my 26 inch frame mountain bike as well as my 22 inch frame freestyle bike with no problems. I like to use a bungee cord with it for piece of mind, but that is just me. All in all, it's a solid bike rack, in-expensive, easy to install and it won't scratch your paint.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - * Good for light use ...
This is the first trunk-mount bicycle rack I've ever owned, so I don't have anything else to compare it to, but it seems mostly stable. I can see the bikes shifting around a bit as I drive, and I think it would be a little better if it had a couple more straps going to the sides of the trunk. I bought it for infrequent, short (less than 1 hour) trips. I think if I were planning to use it more often I would try and get something more stable (like install a hitch and get a hitch-mounted rack) No problems fitting it on my '07 Scion tC (no spoiler, but either of the factory spoilers would probably be OK too) My 15" Trek 7.3FX is a bit of a tight fit on the rack, but they also give you the option of rotating the securing strap to the side to wrap it around the vertical part of the bike frame/seat post.

This camp spectacle stars Sherilyn Fenn (Boxing Helena) as an upper-crust Southern belle who abandons the posh life for sex on the road with a carny worker. Naturally, the older folk (Burl Ives, Louise Fletcher) take exception. Typically silly, soft-porn stuff from director Zalman King (Wild Orchid), this erotic joke of a movie is good for putting one's busy brain on hold for awhile. Colorful support from Kristy McNichol as a cowgirl, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, and the late Hervé Villechaiz (Fantasy Island). --Tom Keogh

The Omron HJ-112 Pocket Pedometer is an advanced, high-tech pedometer that--thanks to unique dual sensor technology--can be carried in your pocket or bag. Now you can just drop your pedometer in your purse to find out how much exercise you get in a typical day of work, errands, and other tasks. Of course, you can also attach it to your belt like a traditional pedometer.

A large, easy-to-read display helps you keep tabs on your workout. View larger.
The HJ-112 accurately measures your steps, as well as aerobic steps and minutes. You can also use it to measure calorie consumption during your workout, as well as the distance you've traveled.

The device's large, easy-to-read LCD display can separately display aerobic steps and minutes walked more than 10 minutes continuously, so you always have the information you need right in front of you. Meanwhile, a seven day history lets you review a full week of exercise. The device also resets at midnight automatically so it's ready to go every morning. Of course, the device can also function as a handy and highly accurate clock. It also comes with a detachable belt holder and security strap so it's always close at hand.

The HJ-112 is powered by a replaceable lithium battery (CR2032) that will last six months when used for walking 10,000 steps a day. The device measures approximately 2.8 x 2.1 x .6 inches (H x W x D) and weighs 1.1 ounces (not including battery).
